The first “IoT Challenge competition” will be held. The IoT Challenge competition is an event to utilize and foster creative ideas and technologies in the field of IoT. The competition is open to students from various disciplines as well as engineering students. Through this event, students can acquire knowledge in various fields in addition to their specialties and develop convergence skills.

   The purpose of the IoT Challenge competition is to provide opportunities for students to use IoT technology to solve problems in their lives through team cooperation and encourage students from various disciplines to participate together and develop convergent capabilities. Students can get feedback on the growth potential, market entry potential, and commercialization potential of the idea. It can be used as an opportunity to promote technology that has emerged through students’ eyes and needs and as an opportunity to commercialize technology. Ideas created by students have the advantage of being mass-produced in life, and it is expected to contribute to improving the quality of life through the popularization of technology. In addition, through the competition, students are encouraged to creatively solve various problems related to the latest engineering technology. Cultivating creativity, problem-solving, and convergent thinking skills are also possible. Furthermore, students can challenge their spirit and develop an interest in technology and engineering, spreading a positive tech culture.

   The competition will cover various industries, including smart homes, smart cities, healthcare, environment and energy, public safety, finance and industry, and smart cars. The preliminary round consists of document screening and the final round consists of on-site presentation screening. Only those who pass the document screening will be ranked through the final presentation and exhibition of their works.

   Only freshmen and Sophomores can apply, and a team of two to five people should be formed. The award will be given to 3rd place, and there will be a difference in the prize money depending on the ranking.
