On May 7, DU held its 95th Anniversary Ceremony in the Main Auditorium.The ceremony included the chief director, President Song Suk-ku, former President Hwang Soo-young, faculty, students and seven Japanese university presidents and their 13 delegates.At the ceremony, many prizes were given to professors by the president in honor of their meritorious deeds, such as long-term services, distinguished services and excellent research achievements.After the awards, the president gave a congratulatory address. "Each member of DU has a responsibility to establish further the identity of DU and to accomplish their mission for the growth of DU," he said.At the end of the ceremony, the Pohyawn-posal Elephant Statue representing Buddhism, the foundational spirit of DU, was unveiled on a circular lawn in the quadrangle. The elephant family is the work of Cho Seung-hwan, a professor in the College of Arts.
